Document Index allows Searching via File Hash
The core function of Documentchain is the storing of hash values for a document revision. The system confirms the date on which a file has existed in a manupilation-proof manner.
This information is stored in blockchain transactions. When using DMS Core or a document management software, the system searches for the appropriate transaction using the stored ID and compares the blockchain values with the current document.
Revision also in Browser
The new document index also allows a search directly via the file hash value, the transaction ID is not required for this. In the blockexplorer you can even drop a file on the search field using drag and drop. A browser script calculates the hash and immediately displays the corresponding transaction. This enables a document revision even if only the file is available and the owner no longer has access to the transaction data; an Internet browser is sufficient.
