Document Revision

How to store document information into the blockchain and later prove that a document is unchanged.

 

With DMS Core

  1. If not already installed, please install the DMS Wallet.
  2. Mine a block or use the faucet to get coins for the fees.
  3. Open the tab page Documents.
  4. Click on the push button Add File or drop the desired file onto the Wallet.
  5. If the wallet is encrypted as recommended, you will be prompted for the password. Please enter it.
  6. Confirm the transaction fee.
  7. The document information (only the hash and not the file itself) is stored in the blockchain. Please wait six blocks.
  8. Select the document in the list and click the Revision button. The system confirms that the document file is unchanged.

With a document management system

Office Manager DMS users should follow the instructions given in the manual.

Alternatively, you can install Gonz@les DMS – Document Runner as a trial version and unlock it for permanent use. With the free activation code, up to 50 documents can be archived, but the runtime is unlimited.

  1. Install Gonz@les DMS
  2. Select the menu command Help | Internet | Register version. You do not need to provide any data and you do not need to submit the registration form. You can enter the release code “GDD-240-001-10392-25671” directly in step 4 and click to Activate.

In the Wallet software

In the DMS software

  1. Import the document requested. For example from Windows Explorer into the DMS by using drag-and-drop.
  2. Describe the document with a name and other relevant information.
  3. Specify a password for the encryption: Menü File | Options | Preferences on page Document | Blockchain.
  4. Select the document in the table and choose Start | Send to | Blockchain to save the document information in the public documentchain. Important to know: The document file itself will not be published and must be available locally. Only the revision information will be stored permanently and unchangeably into the blockchain.
  5. Wait a few minutes for your transaction to be confirmed by the network.
  6. Select the menu command again and check the document.
